Huayou Recycling has independently developed a direct recycling technology that differs fundamentally from the conventional hydrometallurgy process. By significantly shortening the process flow, reducing energy consumption, and lowering carbon emissions, this technology enables the remanufacturing of LFP cathode materials.
Compared with traditional hydrometallurgical processes, direct recycling can reduce carbon emissions by more than 50%, lower battery material costs by up to 30%, and decrease cell costs by as much as 10%. The company has realized large-scale commercial production of LFP direct recycling. Products derived from this process are applicable in energy storage systems, light electric vehicle batteries, and other related fields. Performance of the high-end product has been validated by the market and is comparable to that of materials derived from virgin mined resources.
